AGES Hosts Brainstorming Session on Engaging the New Generation

In February 2025, AGES hosted a brainstorming session to explore innovative strategies for engaging the new generation in the event infrastructure industry. While a select group of participants attended the workshop, many more contributed their ideas and insights via email. This collective input helped shape discussions on how to attract and retain young talent from Gen Z and even Gen Alpha.

What AGES can offer to its members to tackle the challenges of better engaging with the new Generation?

Key highlights from the session included:

Industry Appeal and Awareness: It was emphasized that showcasing the unique experiences, rapid skill development, and meaningful work in the event industry is crucial to attract younger talent.

Digital-First Strategy: Leveraging visual content like short videos and infographics on social media was identified as an effective way to reach Gen Z.

Emotional Appeal: The group discussed the importance of focusing on the emotional appeal and “wow factor” of events when communicating industry opportunities.

AGES Certification/Community Program: The idea of developing an AGES certification or community program was explored as a way to facilitate talent mobility and retention within the industry.

This initiative is part of AGES’ ongoing commitment to staying ahead of industry trends and ensuring its members are equipped to meet the evolving needs of the workforce. AGES continues to promote innovation and sustainability while supporting the growth of emerging talent.
